Ways these Broncos together with the 'play-dough' QB could end the Chiefs' reign.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes live text for Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard through select stations for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar , after last week's talk about two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games were the amount of penalties each committed. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they kind of defeated themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this Sunday.

However it was positive to see that Denver quarterback the rookie managed to overcome the shortfall before lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, to win the victory by four points.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with CB their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, while the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They had effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not always rushing extra pass rushers but they might position two LBs in the interior before drop them out and dispatch a nickel from the outside.

At the start of the season, we said during a show how Denver might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year well and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has excelled big and new running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love how head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows that the Broncos are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable down and distances.

This has helped quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – just behind a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to throw all over, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His assets are his mobility, the capacity to pass on the run, and using different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He can deliver that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is very decisive.

If you constantly rush it eats up time and forces the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the area downfield and horizontally. It can be draining.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games at times and I think Payton likes that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him how he desires to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton has won a championship and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to help you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to face a top squad at its best? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working above average, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need to do is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their forte, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they must do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

This hinges upon which form Kansas City shows up they meet since Denver {beat|def
