Two Victims Revealed in the Ivy League School Shooting as Authorities Continue Hunt for Perpetrator.

Two students who were killed in Saturday’s violent attack on the university campus had tributes paid to them on Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their shooter continued following the release by authorities in Rhode Island of the sole person of interest in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was described as “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, according to the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a gathering on Sunday.

Cook was second-in-command of Brown’s branch of College Republicans of America, as the club stated. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also shared words of sorrow on social media, remarking: “Words cannot express. Keeping in mind her kin and peers, especially her parents.”

MukhammadAziz Umurzokov

The other person killed was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his initial year at the prestigious university, his family confirmed.

Umurzokov’s identity was officially acknowledged by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. His ambitions were lofty of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and assisting patients,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a online post.

What Happened

Nine more persons were hurt in the violent event in the engineering department of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Officials stated late Sunday that a 24-year-old male arrested in a raid at a Hampton Inn about approximately 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was being released.

“We have a murderer out there,” stated Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.

Neronha explained, “Investigations can lead one way, and then you must reassess and go in another, and that’s exactly what has happened over the last approximately one day.”
