Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

The three finalists have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The show will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
