The commander-in-chief said he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump told the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Response

Community members assembled over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s national effort to assist public safety in the capital.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“She was the individual that instructors desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the principal of her former high school, told the media. “She was kind, compassionate and always eager to help others.”

Funeral details for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Legal Steps and Government Changes

Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of homicide and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The event prompted the Trump administration to halt asylum processing and halt issuing visas to possessors of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a resident of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the Associated Press.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with excellence, according to the West Virginia National Guard.
