Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the US has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
