Head Made Contact to Duckett After Video Backlash
The two batters were on rival teams in the past two Ashes series.
Australian batter Travis Head has revealed that he reached out to England counterpart Ben Duckett after a online footage surfaced purportedly showing the player in a inebriated state prior to the Melbourne Test.
Accounts indicated that members of the squad were drinking excessively during a respite in the beach town of Noosa in the gap between the second and the third Tests.
One unconfirmed video resulted in heightened examination on the team and on Duckett specifically.
"I have a good relationship with Ducky and reached out to see if he was going alright," stated Head.
"We are all still people. Your actions in your private life is your concern.
"I know we live a high profile life and some people are more high profile than others.
"Ultimately, it is a somewhat unfair but I don't believe there is any major concern."
Context of the Event
England's four nights in Noosa came after they had fallen 2-0 down in the Ashes series following losses in Perth and Brisbane.
Several media outlets reported that some players were drinking for a large part of their time on the coastal break, in addition to on two earlier days in Brisbane.
Though they produced an improved showing in the next Test, they were defeated in Adelaide to surrender the series to Australia.
The Australian's Viewpoint
Commenting following England's victory in the fourth Test, Head said: "I was jealous.
"People has made a lot more out of it than what it should have been.
"Our teams have done the very same on earlier trips. I don't see an issue with it."
