Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.

Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved television series like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, per news outlets.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a message.

They added that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Notable TV Career

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, including:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.

Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
